Press Release (7/15/2011): Arrowfone Voip Android App Released for Japanese Market
TORONTO, ON, July 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Namzak Labs Inc, located in Toronto, Canada, established by CEO Dr. Rick Kazman (Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University) has announced that their first IP mobile phone product--"Arrowfone"--running on Android versions 2.2 and 2.3 has now been released. This initial release of Arrowfone is aimed at the Japanese market.

Namzak Labs' affiliated company--Namzak Japan Inc.--located in Tokyo and established by CEO Daniel Fukumoto, has already begun limited delivery of beta versions of Arrowfone to the Japanese market. They have sales agreements in place with several distributors, including Pacific Net, Art Telecom (Hikari Communication), and Namzak Mobile for IP phone services as an MVNO, using the DoCoMo network.
The technological advantage of Arrowfone is its narrow bandwidth requirements--about 1/3 of Skype--which has enabled Namzak Japan to provide the cheapest cell phone rates in the country for both local and long-distance services. Arrowfone works well on 2.5G and 3.0G networks. With Arrowfone installed on an Android mobile phone, a user can call to land lines or mobile phones in the U.S., Canada, China, UK, France and most other major countries from Tokyo for just 2 yen per minute, and near-flawless sound quality.
The Namzak Group will be providing complete solutions (servers, clients, and connectivity), including IP Centrex services in Japan in September of 2011. These same services can, however, be deployed anywhere in the world. Corporate users have already express interest in using the Arrowfone Centrex for low cost, high quality VoIP. In live tests the quality of Arrowfone has proven to be excellent--far better than Skype--even in usage over long distances, such as highway driving or on the Shinkansen (bullet train) where there are many "handovers" from one cell site to another.
